“When Prince Charming didn’t come along, she went over to the palace and got him.”

inaccurate, she believed in staying home and fucking MOPING until some awesome lady decided to TELL her she should go and gave her the means to do so.

Did you miss the part of the movie when she worked as hard as she possibly could in order to go to the ball, only to have her one and only dress ripped to shreds at the last minute?

Cinderella has probably spent over ten years of her life as a slave to these women. So she finally had some hope that she could get the chance to have a night to herself and be happy. But they couldn’t even allow that, because it wasn’t acceptable to them that she go.

Imagine that for a second. After YEARS of slavery, you’re given the hope that you can finally enjoy yourself. And then you’re screamed at, grabbed at, and literally have your clothes torn from your body (Think about how much that must have hurt. Just having clothes pulled on with enough force hurts. They were being torn from her body.)

So yeah. She went and she cried. You know why? Because she fucking deserves to. If everything before this scene is any indication to how Cinderella is, she has never once allowed herself to get upset. Despite everything, she keeps hope and her dream. She stays optimistic. She works her hardest. And she tries to please everyone. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was one of the few times she’s allowed herself to cry over the treatment she receives.

So now she’s sitting in the garden with no way to get to the castle, which is clearly very far away, without a dress, and her dreams and her mood crushed. So no, she was not going to go to the ball. Because she had no way. She couldn’t show up to the ball in her torn up dress or her rags. Even if she did, it probably would have taken her hours to get there. She needed help from the Fairy Godmother, because that was the only way she could have possibly gone.

Cinderella was all about believing in her dreams AND believing in doing something about them. She did not mope. She did not sit around. She chased her dreams and she won.
